Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha attended the World Leaders Summit, which is part of the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Glasgow, United Kingdom. On this occasion, the Prime Minister emphasized that Thailand has put climate action as a top priority and presented Thailand’s active efforts. He also announced the country’s aim to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 and net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065. Furthermore, international cooperation and the convention framework's mechanism will assist Thailand in raising its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) to 40%, which will allow it to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050.
